This is a really great website that helps students explore social studies. On this website there are different categories such as, Meet Amazing Americans, Jump Back In Time, Explore The States, Join America At Play, and See, Hear, and Sing. Under each of these are more categories to choose from. I chose the Meet Amazing Americans category. Under this category you can learn about leaders, Presidents, adventurers and explores, inventors, musicians, and writers just to name a few. I chose the adventurers and explorers. Then I chose Amelia Earhart. The site asks a quiz question then gives you the answer. Then the story and facts about Amelia Earhart came up. It was very interesting learning different facts. Many of these facts I did not know. Also, this site showed a timeline of the person chosen. Not only did the timeline have events in that person's life, but also other world events going on at the same time. I think this is a great and fun website that would help students explore our history in a fun and interesting way. I think this would be a good computer center activity, where students can explore and learn facts about the history of our world.
As teachers we always need great, educational websites! Thanks for this post and the info about the website!
